📖 Matthew 21:1–11

The King has come — but not the way they expected.

In Week 3 of Portraits of the Savior, we enter Jerusalem on the day of triumph as Jesus rides in to shouts of “Hosanna!” The crowds celebrated Him as King, laying down palm branches and proclaiming His arrival — yet many misunderstood the kind of King He truly was.

He didn’t come on a war horse…

He came on a donkey.

He didn’t come to conquer Rome…

He came to conquer sin.

This moment reveals a King who is humble, righteous, and worthy of our full surrender. The same question the crowd asked still echoes today: “Who is this?”

👑 Will we recognize Him for who He truly is — and respond with more than just praise, but obedience?
